Let's panic!

So, Ms. These-pants-aren't-new-even-though-they-have-tags decided to leave me negative feedback!  I was apologetic, I refunded her money...what else did she want???  Then, when I tried to log into eBay to comment on her feedback, eBay won't let me in!  It says my password is wrong when that's total bull!  PANIC!  Panicpanicpanic.

***Update***
eBay let me in.  I wrote "buyer recieved full refud as requested.  Item had tags and was never worn"  They don't give you enough space in those things.  I wanted to say:

"Buyer is obvious sociopath.  I would request that she remove this, but then she'd probably try to call in the FBI.  This is ridiculous, why can she even do this when I gave her a refund?  I hate eBay."

I think if you refund the full amount of an item, the transaction should be automatically cancelled and they shouldn't be able to leave feedback.  I have never had a buyer be this rude.  I've had returns on more expensive items (remember these were 14-bloody freakin-dollars) and no one has evern pulled this crap.

Anger.

  1. Have had the EXACT same thing happen! Have talked to eBay THREE times about this. I, too, think its ludicrous that they can even LEAVE a feedback. eBay's answer? "Buyers have a right to rate the seller". "They need to let other buyers know there is something wrong with your merchandise (!!!!~!?????!!! what??? they got ALL their money back, no argument. ) "They purchased an item expecting something in a certain condition, and didn;t receive it". No, they got their money back, they DIDN'T purchase a THING. I;ve been so frustrated by the whole thing. Had 2 dresses (2 auctions) purchased by 1 buyer in France, never paid. She bid on 30 other auctions, had some "positive" feedback that said "never paid!!" I asked ebay why I had to go through that, why they weren't removed (still active). Why can't sleers alert other sellers? They went around in a circle, no answer. I can SO feel your pain!!!!!

  2. Oh, I know! Why do we have to leave positive feedback for buyers? Why don't we have that choice? I've wondered that for a while now.

  3. eBay is all for the buyers. I hate that too. U practically have to kiss buyers behinds cuz of the fear of bad feedback but you can't leave them anything negative. How does that make sense? I feel your pain.

  4. So sorry! I agree completely that if a transaction is refunded then it should automatically be cancelled and feedback on either end should not be allowed or be removed if already left.

No matter what reasons ebay give, the fact that sellers cannot leave anything but positive feedback for a buyer is ridiculous. If the purpose of feedback is to rate the other person then a seller should be allowed to leave the buyer whatever feedback they feel the buyer deserved. I don't know why there would be any other argument otherwise.

  5. Most online marketplaces are pro-buyer, because we sellers are a dime a dozen.

  6. I understand the need to be pro-buyer, I mean, I buy stuff off ebay, too. And if something I get isn't up to snuff and the seller is unwilling to cooperate or was rude about it, then I would want to have the option of leaving a negative (I don't know if I would, though...maybe). I don't, however, understand why someone would want to leave negative feedback after I took care of the situation.

  7. I'm sorry! I know how upsetting that is when it happens! My 1st negative feedback paid $50 for a coat, had it for TWO MONTHS and then left me a negative feedback with "Needs to read ebay policies." Uhhhh....ok? What the heck? Should I sit down and read what could be volumes of ebay policies? What for when I didn't have a CLUE as to why they were unhappy? At least I got paid for my feedback though! :(

  8. It's always frustrating to get a neg FB when you've done evrything right. Even tho you refunded the money, a buyer still can rate how you handled the transaction which is ok. I started eBay in 1998 when sellers could leave FB and it was HORRIBLE! People were rude and nasty to each other - each reply worse than the other. If you get one neg FB out of hundreds of positives, buyers know what's going on. It's just not worth sweating over it. Just leave a reply to explain things and MOVE ON. I worry more about my DSRs and getting low ratings because that affects my fees and bottom line. It irritates me when buyers leave wonderful positive FB and then leave low ratings! The online marketplace is so competitive and it's in our (sellers) best interest to make sure buyers return to eBay.
