If it's not one thing...

I sold five things yeterday! (well, six but one was a book I listed on half.com in July and sold about three months ago on eBay...whoops). So I feel ok. Just have to keep this momentum going. I've got a 10% off sale going and I've changed my shipping to "free" on several things, which I think helped yesterday (Thanks, Kim!).

And now baby has pink eye. Apparently the daycare we take her to is, according to our doctor, the current "Pink Eye Capitol of the World". One more reason I need to quit my job and stay home with her, right? I did get to stay home with her today, though!

I'll post some pics and prices of the stuff I've sold tonight. I can't type much because even though she can sleep through our dogs barking, she starts hollering the minute I start to write a post.

Thanks again for everyone's support! You guys are awesome! I was thinking yesterday how nice it is to have a support system on the blogosphere, especially when your friends and family think your "eBay habit" is nuts.

  1. Finally, right! Good news on the sales. I don't tell hardly anyone about what I do - they look at my like I'm crazy, and honestly? I don't want the local competition!

  2. Today I got a text from my husband to 'go find work! I cried and got very depressed but I made up my mind to go it alone if I have to in order to achieve my dream. My entire family has been very negative towards by Ebay business. I have no support except to spend the money when I make sales. I know exactly how you feel. It is an uphill battle. I am glad you have made so many sales. Enjoy the moment because you will inevitably have another slump. I still have not had a sale since last Thursday.

  3. Ugh, I'm so sorry your husband was being hard on you. Tyler is supportive, but he doesn't get it when I get so upset over having a slow week, so it's frustrating. I'm going to start looking into Etsy. I'm afraid to start selling somewhere new, but I was going over my stock and I think there's stuff there that would do way better on Etsy than on eBay. Good luck and hopefully we can be successful together!

  4. Thank you so much for your support. Women are in general more broody and emotional by nature. Just keep your eyes on the prize. I just started on Etsy and already had a sale. Make sure your stuff is attractive and you will have sales. Go for it! I also finally had a sale on Ebay! Hoping for a good weekend. It's better to sell in multiple venues, especially if you want to leave your job.
